I can hardly believe how long it has taken for Google alerts to implement RSS delivery to complement email alerts.
As mentioned on the Google blog, this is a highly requested feature. I have never used Google alerts, because this feature was missing. I might just set up an alert today...

I have been using Bloglines search and Google Blog Search to provide this kind of alerting service, both of which have provided an RSS option to subscribe to search results for some time.
