I've been playing with Google's virtual world, Lively. In a very short time I had created an avatar, visited sirexkat island and created my own room with a videostream of the superlibrarian video from Youtube. It gets somewhat monotonous hearing it over and over - so that should ensure there is no dawdling in the room.

Lively uses your Google account, so you don't have to remember another password. It also requires a client to be downloaded. But it's a very lightweight client.
