Story of the day - Dalby Library

One of the great stories that emerged at the library 2.0 unconference was the story from Dalby public library who collaborated with teens to construct a Myspace for engagement with the community to support a grant application (Foundation for Young Australians).

The library provided a video camera to teens to make videos and take photographs of the town. Surveys were carried out to find out what they thought was needed in the town.

The application was successful and the library received $40000 dollars to implement services.

Sylvia, if you are reading this, add a comment to tell us more about it.

http://www.myspace.com/dalbylaunchpad to see what they created. Imagine how proud they must have been to be successful in securing such a grant for their community.

Thanks for your snappy links to our Library Launchpad project - we are underconstruction at the moment (lots of plaster dust) the kids are waiting for the kit-out of the interesting stuff ie. huge screen, PS3, wide-disperal sound dome (they call that the dome of silence) and other cool stuff (the more we do the more they want!). I'm going to take the time to browse through your site now... have a great day ... I'll send some pics of the launch!
