Yesterday, after weeks of thinking about it, I actually got around to consolidating my feeds for this blog in Bloglines. I did try a while back, but for some reason I just couldn't get the claiming process to work. However, I have now claimed my feeds and marked two of them as duplicates.
I also sorted out the feeds in the sidebar so that the Feedburner version is the one being publicised.
The result of all this is that my feedburner subscribers have shot up from 4 to 26. (20 in Bloglines)
If you are looking to do something similar in Bloglines look for the link to Publisher tools after clicking on Account in the top right of the screen.
Feedburner also provides a service to add the FeedCount as the image associated with the Feed. So this should soon be viewable within feed readers.
