Variations on "on this day" theme
Let's not just stick to events "on this day". I have been playing with the javascript to include miscellaneous "of the day" services. Including quote of the day, lunar picture of the day, word of the day, Dilbert comic of the day and one for the kids -- Fact monster for the day.

RSS incorporated into Library catalogue
National University of Ireland - Galway has incorporated at least two neat tricks into their library catalogue. Uses Aleph500 system.
1. RSS buttons to retrieve new titles meeting search criteria - I'll subscribe to check how this operates.
2. Permalink buttons to provide permanent links to search results or individual records.
